Lapsang Souchong Black Tea

he lapsang Souchong is ONE OF FAMOUS BLACK TEA ONLY GROW IN Wuyi mountain, Fujian province, which made out on 16 century and was sold to Europe on 1610 by the merchants from Holland. This product is the special products in ChongAn county around Wuyi mountain, Fujian province. The material is grow on the altitude 1000-1500 m in northern Wuyi mountian. The main speciality for it is
have pinetree smoky smell. lapsang souchong Tea leaves is thick and its color is dark and smooth before processing. Tea leaves is strip and black after refining. the soup of it is red and smooth, high fragrance,have outstanding pinetree smoky smell and some Longan taste.

To process lapsang souchong tea. Usually use high fire to fume it 3 hours then use low fire to fume it 8-12hours. In order to make the remarkable taste of it, there are a step called as fermented leaf fixation which place the tea leaves 1-1.5kg/time in the pan at temperature 200c to fry it 2-3minutes. which can destroy the activity of enzyme, stop fermenting so that keep more tea
ployphenols in order to create the condition that the tea go on slowly No-enzyme oxidation. .

Its full procedure for production is :
Sunshine withering ----rolling----fermenting----fermented leaf-- fixation----repeat rolling---drying----lay open--stalk separation---fume or
smoke it by carbon with pinetree.

History of Lapsang souchong;
At the end of Ming Dynasty in China, the society is roily and peaceless, One troop from Jiangxi via Tongmu Throat to Fujian. this Troop occopy one tea factory as their encampment. So that the tea leaves in the processing can not be dried betimes. When the troop left, the tea farmers in order to save the lost, they use the pine tree to drying the tea leaves. After processing, they find this tea have special pinetree smoky taste. Then this tea was created.

Lapsang souchong have 400 years culture histories, which was imported to European market on 1610 by Hollander. before 1650, the international trade business of lapsang souchong completely under the control of Hollander, about 1644, England Eastern Indian company set up a office in Xiamen and started to involve in Bohea tea business. They competed with Holland on this business. The
wars between Holland and England broke out on 1652-1654 and 1665-1667, the Britain gradually monopolize tea trade business when they have won these two war.On 1669, The english goverment assigned the special right of running Bohea tea business to England eatern Indian company. From that on, Lapsang souchong was imported to European market in large quantity.

According to history record, 1662, the Portugal princess Cathyrin was bringing several boxes lapsang souchong tea into English basilica as part of dowry when she married with the English emperor Charlie II.As said that the empress of Britain was drinking one cup of tea everyday when she waked up. From that time, lapsang Souchong become one of treasure teas. Whereafter, Britain queen Annie
