Junshan Silver Needle Tea

Origin & History:Started to be produced in Tang era, Junshan silver needle was used to be imperial tribute in Qing dynasty. Listed in top-ten and won gold medal at International Exposition, Leipzig, 1956, this was once the most expensive Chinese tea for its limited output and unique style.

Planting and Processing: By observing strict rules, the harvest starts form March, when the leaves are still in shape of bud. The procedure of its making is quite time-consuming - taking more than three days to finish all of its eight stages. Made in traditional style, this tea is hand-rolled into the shape which is similar as maojian instead of being pressed.

Characteristics:Junshan silver needle has a unique flavor that is slightly nutty with hints of sweetness. All the buds are silky smooth and almost shimmer with their fuzzy covering. Enjoy the sweet liquor with a slight woody, smoky taste.
